In order to give the best service possible, not only Cynthia's Cakes but all professional wedding vendors will ask that you set up an appointment. Choosing a special custom made cake is not always "simple" especially when it's your wedding cake. Cynthia's Cakes offers more than just a couple of cake designs to choose from, she offers a world of cake decorating techniques and mediums. Take time to choose every aspect of your wedding carefully, you will be happier with the outcome in the long run. Effective 1-1-2008 a $50 consultation fee will be administered up front for a wedding cake consultation. The fee will be applied to the balance of your cake when you book the date.
Cynthia's Cakes takes limited number of wedding cake orders per weekend on a first come, first served basis. Sometimes these cakes are delivered outside the Rio Grande Valley into other areas of Texas, Mexico and even other states in the U.S. An appointment is only scheduled when a firm date and reception site has been chosen by the bridal couple and the date is available for us to commission your custom cake. (NOTE: It is not unusual for us to be booked 12 months in advance.)
Cynthia's Cakes offers over 15 flavors to choose from. At the initial appointment, one or two will be available to sample. After booking your wedding cake, you will be invited to an exclusive bride/groom tasting day event to sample all cake and filling flavors offered at Cynthia's Cakes . When planning a wedding, the cost of all aspects can become overwhelming. It is best to have a budget in mind for everything including the wedding cake. Custom wedding cakes can become expensive when you add lots of extras to a basic style buttercream cake (IE: gold painting, gumpaste flowers, fondant, marbling, drop lace, custom lace, pearls, beading, etc.) The more labor that goes into a cake the more the cost. At Cynthia's Cakes we help you choose the perfect cake for your special day to stay within your budget.
Selecting a package wedding (food, flowers, cake, hall, photographer, decorations all at one place) is perfect if you are looking for a wedding on a budget and it can save valuable time otherwise spent at each vendors place. However, select wisely. Check with the Better Business Bureau to get feedback about a reception place before you leave a deposit. Make sure everything is in writing. Some places do not allow any changes after they receive your deposit and you don't always get to meet the people who will actually be providing the services before your wedding day.
Choosing a customized wedding gives you total control over the "who, what, when and where" of your special day. You coordinate the vendors of your choice and can select how the food, linens, cake, photographer, decorations, etc. will look. The service you will receive from individual vendors will be more personal and will give you a feel for how they will treat you on the big day. Custom weddings will probably cost a bit more but in the long run will be worth the extra time and money you spend selecting them.
